Hello and welcome to your alcohol tincture infusions video. Today we will be learning how to infuse cannabis into gin and dark rum. Then we will be using those same tinctures to create cannabis infused sugar and vanilla extract.

We are going to be using a strain called “Shishkaberry” and “CBD God Bud” for our infusions.

Today we will be learning how to infuse cannabis into alcohol. Tinctures are one of the oldest forms of dispensing canal is as a medicine. We are going to be using a strain called “Shishkaberry” and “CBD God Bud” for our infusions but you can use your preferred strain. We are then going to use those same tinctures to create infused sugar and vanilla extract.

We are simply going to infuse our gin and dark rum by adding the cannabis to the alcohol and allowing it to sit for 24+ hours, while giving it a stir every couple hours. Once it’s finished we’ll strain and store it.

There will be different calculations in this video as we are dealing with two recipes and two different strains.

Storage: You can store your alcohol tinctures in a cool dark area for 8-12 months.

Let’s Get Started

THC Gin Tincture

We used 3.5 grams of cannabis per one cup of alcohol.

We know that our THC content is 16%, which equates to 160mg THC-a per gram of cannabis. So, if we multiply 3.5 (grams) by 160 it equals 560mg THC-a.

After decarboxylation, converting the THC-a to THC, (560mg X .88) we are left with 493mg THC.

After infusion, THC multiplied by 80%, gives us a grand total of….

Approximately 394mg THC infused into your gin tincture.

CBD Dark Rum Tincture

We used 3.5 grams of cannabis per one cup of alcohol.

We know that our THC content is 7% THC & 11% CBD, which equates to 70mg THC-a & 110mg CBD-a per gram of cannabis.

So, if we multiply 3.5 (grams) by 70 & 110 it equals 245mg THC-a & 385mg CBD-a.

After decarboxylation, converting the THC-a to THC, (245mg & 385mg X .88) we are left with 216mg THC & 339mg CBD.

After infusion, THC multiplied by 80%, gives us a grand total of….

Approximately 172mg THC & 308mg CBD infused into your dark rum tincture.

SUGAR

For the sugar we are going to infuse it with the gin tincture we just made. We know that the gin tincture contains 394mg of THC per 250 ml of alcohol. So if we divide 394mg into 250ml it gives us 1.6mg of THC per ml.

We then multiply that 1.6mg/ml by 30 (2 tablespoons equal 30 ml) it gives us 48mg THC.

We will then add the the 2 tablespoons (48mg THC) to the 2 cups of sugar which gives us a grand total of 48 mg of THC contained in the 2 cups of sugar.

VANILLA EXTRACT

If you’ve never made your own vanilla extract before you will be delighted after you create this one. Although a bit time consuming as you need to allow the vanilla to seal into the alcohol for more then 30 days, but, once the time is finished you’ll be dancing in joy The flavour will be absolutely amazing and you’ll never go back to store bought vanilla ever again! Plus, it’s cannabis infused 🙂

All you’re simply going to do is add 5 vanilla bean pods to your dark rum tincture and allow to marinate for 30+ days and you’re done. Using the math above we know that the dark rum tincture contains 172mg THC and 308mg CBD.

If we divide 172 & 308 into 250 (1 cup of tincture) we have .7mg THC & 1.2mg CBD.

So, since most recipes call for 1 teaspoon (5ml) of vanilla, each of your teaspoons will be 3.5mg THC & 6mg CBD
