Super Green Smoothie

Super Green SmoothieYou’ll love this super green smoothie anytime of the day.  Making it the night before to marinate all the flavors is nice and it’s ready for you when you wake up, but making the super green smoothie as soon as you get up in the morning is just as wonderful too.  One thing that you could do for making smoothies easier is to make a couple batches of the raw veggies ahead of time and then freeze them in freezer bags.

The super green smoothie makes for a great accompaniment to your breakfast and then doubles as one of your next snacks throughout the day.   Put it in your smoothie jar and bring it with you while on the go.  The variants are endless with the super green smoothie as you can add your favorite leafy greens in place of the kale and romaine, and you can use your favorite apple or pear in place of the green apple.

You need to add kale to your diet as kale is very high in beta carotene, vitamin K and C, and is rich in calcium.  Kale contains Sulforaphane, a chemical with potent anti-cancer properties, and is delicious in your super green smoothie.

Finding the right blender for your super green smoothie is a preference that is up to you and your ability to swallow the fibrous leftovers.  Some blenders do not blend as well as they should, and here is a quick guide to help you choose your super green smoothie blender.


  • 3 Leaves of KaleSuper Green Smoothie
  • 3 Leaves of Romaine
  • 1 Cup Coconut Water
  • 1 Cup Water
  • ¼ Cucumber
  • 1 Green Apple
  • 1 Banana
  • 1 TBSP of Lemon Juice

Directions for Super Green Smoothie:

  1. Rinse all fruits and vegetables under cool running water,
  2. Remove the stem of the kale leaves,
  3. Place the kale, romaine, coconut water, and water in your blender and blend on high for 1 minute,
  4. Cut the cucumber and apple into medium size pieces and add to blender and blend for another minute,
  5. Add the peeled banana and lemon juice and blend for 30 seconds and your done!!
  6. Drink and enjoy your Super Green Smoothie.
